Welcome to St Mary’s

New to the Parish Church?

New to Godmanchester, or a visitor to the town, and you would like to know more about the St Mary’s community? Please collect a ‘Welcome’ flyer from the table by the entrance door. Do make yourself known to the Vicar, one of the Churchwardens or sidespersons and please join us in the church hall for refreshments after the 9.30am service today.

The GMC 20-20 Vision Project

On Sunday 20th January Roger Leivers will give a short presentation of this exciting project, which will benefit St Mary’s Transformation Project as well as other local causes, in the Church Hall at 11.15am (coffee time). Please come and find out what it’s all about – it won’t take more than a few minutes, and it really is very creative and intriguing; as well as requiring no extra effort from us at all!

Week of Prayer for Christian Unity

The Week of Prayer for Christian Unity is from Sunday 20th to Sunday 27th January. On each of the weekdays (Monday 21st to Friday 25th), there will be a short time of prayer at Huntingdon Methodist Church in the lower High Street from 12.30pm to about 1pm. Please come if you can.

On Sunday 27th, two members of Huntingdon Methodist Church will be at Parish Praise to share news from their church with us and to ask us to pray with and for them. We hope that 2 people from St Mary’s will be at the Methodist Church at the same time.

Parish Praise on 27th January

Parish Praise is on Sunday 27th January at 10.30am in St Anne’s School. There will be no 9.30am Eucharist that day, but there will be Communion from the Book of Common Prayer at 6.30pm in place of Evensong. Please come to Parish Praise if you can!

Calling All Lesson Readers

Over the coming year, I would like to meet with all the groups which play a part in the life of our church, to show my gratitude to each group separately, to share some ideas, and discuss any concerns or relevant matters of interest.

The first group being invited to a meeting is the lesson readers. If you usually read lessons at our church, regardless of the service or frequency, you are invited to attend a meeting on Sunday 17th February at 11.15am (coffee time) in the church. Please do come if you can. A glass of Prosecco or juice and biscuits will be served. David Busk

Taizé Service on 24th February

There will be a service in the style of the ecumenical Taizé community on Sunday 24th February at the usual Evensong time of 6.30pm. Please come, and spread the word.
