Pastoral Visiting Team
Mission Statement:
To further the Ministry of our Parish Church through Pastoral Care.
The pastoral visiting group was formed in the Autumn of 2002 and has now grown in numbers. Our role as a group is to visit anyone who is either in their own home or in hospital who would like someone to talk to or to just be there for them. This is to enable those who are being visited to continue to feel and remain part of our church community.
Home Communion from the reserved sacrament is given to those who cannot attend church but would like to receive it in their own home or at hospital. This is administered by a member of the ministry team or by those who have been granted a special licence from the Bishop.
All members of the pastoral group are CRB (Criminal Record Bureau) checked.
Both the pastoral group and the ministry team rely on someone approaching us or telephoning us, to ask for visits or to point out if a member of the congregation needs a visit or help.
If anyone feels called to join our group please see me or one of the ministry team.

We believe that the Parish Church of Saint Mary the Virgin, Godmanchester, exists to build up the individual and corporate spiritual life of our Church and to spread the love of Christ through word and deed, by enabling those who live and work within our town to come into contact with God’s love and come to faith in Christ.
