Church Buildings
The Vicarage
The vicarage is situated in its own grounds of some 0.75 acres, adjacent to the churchyard with access from the vicarage garden. Most of the garden area is unmodified orchard.
History
The building, constructed in 1926, has one bedroom with en-suite shower/toilet room and four other bedrooms, three reception rooms, one bathroom and a downstairs cloakroom. Internal modernisation work, which included central heating, was undertaken 12 years ago. A small storage room with an external door, originally the coal cellar, was converted for use as the Parish Office. The kitchen was refitted in 2001 and double glazed UPVC windows were fitted in 2002.
The incumbent was the owner of the freehold.
The Current Situation
The Right of Patronage has been suspended, with effect from the date of the vacancy for a period of five years.
The Future
A priest-in-charge will be appointed for a period of five years, or until a pastoral reorganisation is completed, whichever is the sooner. Information on the pastoral reorganisation is given below in the section titled ‘The Wider Church’.
Since the preparation of this Parish Profile the Diocese has met with the PCC to discuss plans for the possible future development of the vicarage site. Any development would include the provision of a new vicarage which would comply with all current standards. (14th March 2006)
