Mashambanzou BBQ to support HIV/AIDS Orphans in Harare

The BBQ last Sunday was attended by about 30 people and, with donations from many who could not come, we raised over £600. This is an excellent result and I would like to thank all those who came or made donations; provided salads and desserts, and contributed items for the raffle. Also a big thank you to those who helped to set up and clear away afterwards. The weather was not as hot as forecast, we had plenty of shade and a breeze which helped. It was a very enjoyable afternoon.

The money raised will be changed to US Dollars and sent to the Treasurer of Mashambanzou Care Trust in Zimbabwe via Western Union next week, so it’s not too late to make a donation: just put it through the door at 20 Post Street in the next few days. Robert Francis (01480 393392)

Sidespersons

We are seeking two or more people to join our Sidespersons team from the beginning of September. We currently run with 14 people, meaning that with two on each Sunday morning at the 9.30am service you would be called upon for duty normally once every seven weeks.

As two people are standing down after many years’ service, we are keen to keep numbers up to strength; so please speak to Jean, Bob or me if you would be interested in joining the team.
