Organ recital

If you are going to the far south of France on holiday, why not go to the recital by John Dillistone at Notre-Dame de Quillan? The organ, by Puget, dates from 1793. John’s recital is at 9.00 pm on Thursday 8 August and includes works by Balbastre, Bruhns, Wesley, Smart and Bach. The proceeds of the recital will go to the music foundation at Notre-Dame de Paris. Quillan is about 50 Km south of Carcassone.

Godmanchester Town Show

Saturday September 14 is the date for this year’s Godmanchester Town Show. Since the Town Show has become an annual feature of the town’s calendar the wonderful ladies of St Mary’s congregation have provided cakes for the refreshment stall at the show. Thank you so much for doing this and I would ask you if would be good enough to repeat your baking effort for this year’s show please? Cakes can be brought to the church on the morning of the show or delivered to Deb Watts (07804095921) 39, West Street beforehand. Bobby Jones (Town Show Committee)

Quiet Day at Little Gidding
