Children’s Church Charity Mastermind – TODAY

After the 9.30am service today Children’s Church warmly invite you to stay behind and be audience members for a very special charity edition of Mastermind.

We are raising money for East Anglia Children’s Hospices (EACH) by having 4 ‘willing’ adult volunteers, sitting on the black chair and face the questions we have set for them on their specialist subjects and a general knowledge round. As well as you being entertained by just how our contestants will be stumped by the questions, we will be providing teas, coffees and cake in the church to keep you refreshed, with all donations going towards EACH. Summer Fete 20th June 2026

Our Summer Fete will be on the 3rd Saturday of June and, as in previous years we will require help setting up and clear down. It is also time to think if you want to have your own stall or manage one. We will have teas and cakes for which many hands are needed to make the burden lighter. New games are always welcome; the only requirement is that the game must be safe for all ages and playable by all. Weather permitting, the fete will be hold in the Vicarage Garden. Last year it was an amazing day. Let’s try and have another memorable day.

PLEASE NOTE: The box for the bottles and other drink donations will be by the font during any service from today and until the Thursday before the Fete. Your donations are very welcome. Thank you.

(If you know of anyone who would like to have a stall at our fete, please, give them Lucilia’s contact. 07786234571)

One of the first ‘religious’ monuments in England. Learn about Neolithic life and in particular what every Neolithic child knew at that time. Make an ancient style pot with local ceramicist Trevor Dyer on the Sunday – and take it home.

Gospel – Matthew 9.9-13, 18-26

9 As Jesus was walking along, he saw a man called Matthew sitting at the tax booth; and he said to him, ‘Follow me.’ And he got up and followed him.

10 And as he sat at dinner in the house, many tax-collectors and sinners came and were sitting with him and his disciples. 11When the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, ‘Why does your teacher eat with tax-collectors and sinners?’ 12But when he heard this, he said, ‘Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. 13Go and learn what this means, “I desire mercy, not sacrifice.” For I have come to call not the righteous but sinners.’

18 While he was saying these things to them, suddenly a leader of the synagogue came in and knelt before him, saying, ‘My daughter has just died; but come and lay your hand on her, and she will live.’ 19And Jesus got up and followed him, with his disciples. 20Then suddenly a woman who had been suffering from haemorrhages for twelve years came up behind him and touched the fringe of his cloak, 21for she said to herself, ‘If I only touch his cloak, I will be made well.’ 22Jesus turned, and seeing her he said, ‘Take heart, daughter; your faith has made you well.’ And instantly the woman was made well. 23When Jesus came to the leader’s house and saw the flute-players and the crowd making a commotion, 24he said, ‘Go away; for the girl is not dead but sleeping.’ And they laughed at him. 25But when the crowd had been put outside, he went in and took her by the hand, and the girl got up. 26And the report of this spread throughout that district.
