Almighty God,
who looked upon the lowliness of the Blessed Virgin Mary
and chose her to be the mother of your only Son:
grant that we who are redeemed by his blood
may share with her in the glory of your eternal kingdom;
through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord,
who is alive and reigns with you,
in the unity of the Holy Spirit,
one God, now and for ever.

St Mary’s Patronal Day 7th September
Today we are celebrating the feast of the Blessed Virgin Mary, our Patron. At the time I was writing this note some beautiful flowers were already in the church; natural or artificial. I hope today our church is briming with them to the honour of the Woman who was chosen by God and accepted to be the mother of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The Choir will be singing the Magnificat. Thank you very much. Lucilia
The Friends of St Mary’s Godmanchester AGM
The Friends of St Mary’s Godmanchester AGM is in the church hall after this morning’s service. All are welcome to come to the Friends AGM where we review the
previous year’s activities and look forward to what is to come. Adrian Sington.
Baptism 11.30
Today we have a baptism at 11.30 of Suzie Roe. You are all invited to welcome Suzie into our Church Family. God bless her.
Thanks, from Barbara
Thank you for the prayers and messages I have received since my recent surgery. I have also received gifts of beautiful flowers and delicious food items which have cheered and sustained me during my recovery. I am making good progress and thank everyone for their support. Love, Barbara

Pizza Sunday 14th September
Dear all, continuing our fundraising towards de construction of toilets in the church, Liz Irving and I are organizing a pizza meal on the date above, starting at 12.00. We will provide a selection of pizzas to cover all diet needs and will be grateful for contributions of salads and desserts. At the end of the service today, I will be at the door with the attendance sheet. Please consider coming and, if so, when you give your name(s) tell us what side dish you will be taking to the meal. We decided not to price our church family’s meal. Instead, we will be asking donations, which will go towards the “Flush Founds”. Thank you. Liz and Lucilia

We need your HELP
Our Churchyard is in constant need of attention. The main problem is that whilst the Town Council gives money to our Church and in return Robert Francis’s grass cutting team keeps the grass under control, there is other work that needs to be carried out. Tree work, mainly lopping of high up branches, has just been completed but there is Ivy and Elder plus other vegetation that needs clearing from the bases of many trees. In addition, Ivy is covering a large number of Headstones. Any help you can provide will be much appreciated. Please contact me in person or on 07518 920026 for further information. Peter Morgan.
