Christingle, Sunday 16th, 3pm

All are invited, of any age, to join in this beautiful and simple service; in aid of the Children’s Society. Do please come! David Busk

Thank You

My thanks for last Sunday’s lovely farewell occasion after the service. I’m very touched by all the messages in the card you gave me and I’m greatly enjoying the beautiful flowers and painting of Godmanchester.

Thank you. I shall miss you all very much and feel privileged to have shared in the life of the parish over the last twenty years or so. I have many happy memories to take with me on the next stage of my journey.

Writing Cards

Dear friends. We have lots of writing cards left over from our last Christmas bazaar. Many of them have been handmade for the purpose of raising money for our church. Please, have a look at the back of the church to see if any of them catches your eye. Donations for our church transformation project are welcome. Please use the envelopes provided. Thank you. A Thank You From Oxfam

You cannot have failed to notice that the bookstalls at our Summer Fetes and Christmas Bazaars do not quite sell out! But that’s not a problem. For a number of years we have taken unsold items to the Oxfam Bookshop in Huntingdon High Street where the books are sold on. And because we sign up to Oxfam’s Tag Your Bag scheme we are able to claim another 25% through Gift Aid. This week we heard that in the current tax year, 2018/19, Oxfam has already sold items from St Marys to the value of £505.93, and with the additional £126.48 Gift Aid we have been able to donate £632.41 to the charity, enough to ensure that a family in Ethiopia has water to grow crops and rear cattle, and to harvest and store clean rain water for those periods in the year when there are water shortages.

So well done St Mary’s! As you will see, the £75 raised for our church at last month’s Bazaar, good though it is, is only the start of a much bigger picture. Peter Irving

Thank You!

A big thank you to everyone who helped make the bazaar a success: There were plenty of people to look after the stalls and there were some really beautiful handmade items for sale. The teas and cakes were excellent as usual and thanks go to the Wives’ Group for that. The hampers for the draw were wonderful and they made an excellent display. Thank you all for your generosity in giving both items for sale and your time. The bazaar committee.

The Wives’ Group

The Wives’ group would like to say thank you to everyone who gave cakes, helped or bought from the teas at the Christmas Bazaar. As usual we had a magnificent array of goodies which were much appreciated! On a personal note, may I especially thank the wonderful team of ladies -and one gent- who worked so hard behind the scenes and at the cutting(!) edge. Sheila, Carole, Diane, Vorrey, Sandra, Claire and Robert; the "Carry on Serving " team. Olwyn Hurd (chairman)
